Chickpea Decorations

I LOVE channa masala. Well, I just flat-out love chickpeas. I never considered that they would be of any use outside of consumption, but these handmade seed, bean, and pea balls have proven me wrong. They’re so simple and unique, with varying knobby textures that just beg to be touched. I can’t wait to make a few of my own for my x-mas tree.

Paris 1962

This series of photos, shot in various Parisian cafés and nightlife have me wishing I were living and in love in the 60′s. The vintage photos capture the mood of a romantic city like Paris so perfectly. They are all candid, but look like stills from a classic romance movie. Sigh!

Sweet Mochi and Fruit Sushi

I absolutely live for sushi. My boyfriend is only slowly learning how to eat raw fish, but I try to ease him into it with maki and cooked ingredients. It’s one of our favourite foods, so when I came across these mochi and fruit sushi desserts by Tiny Urban Kitchen, I almost squealed with excitement.

Fruit Sushi

Sushi is healthy and tasty, and this creative alternative is the same! I love mochi (and my friends will know I intend to name my puppy that), so I am especially crazy about these sushi look-a-likes. Strawberries, mangoes and blackberries are a delicious companion to mochi. A sushi bar would be a great idea for a sushi-loving couple, and this fruit version seems like a cute option for non-fish eaters to join in on the fun.

Head over to Just Bento for the full recipe and instructions. I can’t wait to make these for us, and I hope you enjoy them too.

I like to PARTYPARTY

PARTYPARTY by Confettisystem

I stumbled upon this gorgeous line of party goods on Urban Outfitters the other day designed by Confetti System. I was thrilled by the magical array of colours. It reminded me of childhood birthday parties: sugary cake with pastel icing; pinatas filled with sweet treats; games like musical chairs and pin the tail on the donkey; pointed party hats and prizes. Those were the days… But don’t worry. By adding shimmery streamers and candy-coloured confetti to your event, you can party like an adult and still feel like a kid again. For fun couples only!

Carol Hannah

Jersey bridesmaid dresses? I initially hesitated at the idea of jersey too, but after seeing what Carol Hannah managed to do with it, I’d like one of these! These dresses are wonderfully draped, with a comfortable t-shirt material. If you’re having a more casual, fun and laid back wedding (a beach maybe?) I can imagine these being perfect.

These dresses can also be custom-made with chiffon instead of jersey too. And yes, if you feel like Carol Hannah sounds like a familiar name, she was a contestant on Project Runway Season 6.
