That’s me and the roomie, Jordan, having a blast at The Fifth this past Thursday night. We attended an awesome social media event called Twestival. It gives local Tweeters a chance to meet up and network, as well as raise funds and awareness for local nonprofits that organizers identify for having an incredible impact within the community. Toronto’s organization this year was The Remix Project.
The event had everything from on-the-spot custom created avatar drawings by EightShit; a QR code contest where tons of code stickers where hidden around the venue and scanning them gave you a chance to win a cool prizes; and a Twidol karaoke contest hosted by Nat & Marie and streamed globally to the satellite Twestival events. Jord and I even won a few prizes! (I was hunting down those codes like a bloodhound). It was actually a pretty fun game.
Altogether the night seemed to be a great success. According to Flight Centre’s blog, Canada was the top Country to raise money at Twestival events held around the world with a whopping C$63,819.18! Awesome job Canada!
