Exclaim Cards

If you haven’t yet seen them in the Etsy shop yet, here is the official reveal of my new Exclaim cards for February. The whole set along with trios are available for sale, so get them now while they’re hot… like those little cinnamon heart candies. Valentine’s day is quickly sneaking up on us.

Exclaim is a set of block stamped cards for those incredibly heart-warming occasions where you want to shout out to the rooftops with joy and excitement. The inside of the cards are blank for your personal message. They come with a matching brown kraft envelope and each card is created using careful handcrafted techniques. The stamps were hand carved and printed onto fine quality white card stock.

These are great for weddings, showers, Valentines, engagements, anniversaries… you name it!

Happy 2012!

My new year actually started with a major power outage… that lasted 2 full days! Yes, 48 hours in the cold of winter. No light, no heat, and at times no emergency back-up lights either. I really hope it’s not a sign of what’s to come this year. It would have been really awful except we were generously provided accommodation by family in neighborhood by the end of day 1 (New Years Eve). Feeling really lucky and grateful for that, but I’m starting to feel like my apartment is cursed.

In all seriousness though, I hope everyone had a fabulous new years… with adequate lighting and heat. Happy 2012! Let’s make it awesome.

City of Craft 2011: The Final Round Up

This year’s City of Craft was a huuuge success! It was a joy being a vendor and meeting so many nice people. Thank you to all those who were brave enough to step in front of my handcrafted backdrop, play around with some props, and put on their best smile or silly face. It truly was a blast! So many of the photos cracked me up, so I can’t thank them enough for the laughs.

I also cannot thank my partner in crime enough, photographer Scarlet O’Neill, for all her support and talent. I’m looking forward to many more of these photo booth sessions with her in the future.

Scarlet’s also done a little post of her own about the event. You’ll want to check that out too for more smiles.

And finally thanks to Becky Johnson, the Ring Leader, and all the City of Craft organizers and volunteers for making this thing happen. What an accomplishment!

City of Craft Sneak Peek

Last week was such a blur, I feel like I’m still spinning a bit. But some great things certainly took place. Like for instance two fantastic shoots with Scarlet O’Neill, including this little taster of what’s in the works for the upcoming City of Craft show. This is just a small snippet of what’s to come. And I have to fill in the rest of that backdrop with more fabric, but I had to share since I’m so giddy with the progress so far.

Hope you all can make it out to the show to join in the fun. More details here and here.

City of Craft 2011

If you’ve missed the excited tweets or Facebook posts, I’m proud to announce here on the blog that I will be an official vendor along with Scarlet O’Neill at this year’s City of Craft. The show will be taking place December 10 & 11 and it’s bound to be the best yet! The hours are Saturday 11:00am-6:00pm and Sunday 11:00am-5:00pm with admission only $2 – whoo! It’s rare to get cheap admission to anywhere these days, so I hope that motivates you all to come out.

The show has also expanded this year to feature 2 amazing locations: The Theatre Centre at 1087 Queen Street West and the Thrush Holmes Empire gallery at 1093 Queen Street West. I’ll be in the second one with a fun interactive photobooth. Crazy, whacky and beautifully crafted props will be available for everyone to shoot with, so bring your besties (best friends and best outfit) and get free professional photos of the amazing time you’ll have! See you then friends! xo

Happy Listening: Unchained Melody

I thought this was one of my best finds to date. A truly classic love ballad covered by my current favourite contemporary artist, Lykke Li. This song is probably most famous for the scene in Ghost where Demi and Swayze get their pottery on… but I never get tired of hearing classics like this get updated by incredibly talented musicians.

Hauntingly beautiful… (please forgive the Halloween pun). Enjoy!
