Vintage-inspired Accessories

Today, I wore a feather headband that I purchased from Etsy a while ago, and while browsing for something to add to my collection, I came across these beauties. Dramatic headdresses are definitely back. After Sam’s discovery of the soft fabric headdress, this week I found some other pretty accessories.

LiveInStyle has over 700 handmade necklaces, headbands and earrings for sale. They are made of vintage-looking materials such as feathers and lace, that will really help spice up an outfit. There were so many to pick from that it took me a while to select my favourite photos for this post.

Both of these headbands are precious in a different way. The patterns on the feathers are so cute, and I love the emerald green, while the sequins are much more outstanding. I wear my feather headband quite regularly with a dress or just a fancy top, so even if you aren’t attending something formal, this is something you can wear everyday.

The lace necklaces they carry are a bit much for a regular outfit, but if I had a formal party to attend, I’d definitely pick up one of them in black lace.

Sarah Seven

Since I’m not engaged, I’ve never really researched styles of wedding dresses. I just know there’s a lot out there! When I came across Sarah Seven last year, I fell in love and since then have known exactly what kind of dress I would want.

The draping of her fabric is lovely, and her bridal collection is soft and feminine. It’s just layer after layer of chiffon goodness! Her items are custom-made so just send her your measurements for a one-of-a-kind wedding dress :)

Headdress

Susan by Emma Cook

I went to Urban Outfitters yesterday and tried on this gorgeous headband by Emma Cook. I immediately fell in love, but convinced myself not to buy it because I’m really not the type to wear an extravagant headband on a day-to-day basis. But if I were looking for something to wear in my hair as a bride… bingo! It’s so soft, and romantic. For a moment I felt like a Victorian princess.

And thanks to Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf, headbands are making a huge comeback. So you are sure to see more of them posted here in the future. It’s a simple and secure way to complete your look on the big day.
