Postcard of the Month Club

Adam J. Kurtz, a talented artist/designer I follow frequently, has a great ongoing project in action called the Postcard of the Month Club. It’s been running all year, but it’s not too late to jump on board. It includes twelve postcard prints delivered over the course of 2011, plus a welcome kit to catch you up when you first join!

Membership for 2011 is only $22 (USA), and the welcome package features one of each postcard from January 2011 until time you sign up, 2 pins, 2 pencils, and a personalized welcome letter. Monthly postcard mailings will follow until January 2012. Hooray! Sign me up!

Frame them to use as prints or mail them out with heart-warming messages to your friends. Either way, it’s an awesome gift.

Click here to purchase the postcard club membership or visit Adam’s online shop for super-serious print products and other trinkets. That not enough? Check out his wicked portfolio.

Daniel Fishel

I am a big fan of the narratives and techniques of artist Daniel Fishel. He recently contacted me to let me know about current work and a brand new online shop where you can order his prints. How exciting!

Check out more work from Daniel on his portfolio site and blog.

Real Event: Waiting for Charlie

I’m pretty sure she’s tried everything including yoga, castor oil, and raspberry leaf tea, but little Charlie still hasn’t arrived yet. Although he’s only 2 days past his due date, I think mom Victoria is getting a bit anxious. Now we just wait…

In the meantime, I figured I’d share Wade and Victoria’s beautiful maternity pictures shot by photographer Nicole Duplantis, and a few purchases the parents-to-be made recently to prepare for Charlie’s arrival.

Check out these great purchases made off Etsy: some adorable wall art from Trafalgar’s Square and fun onesies from Truly Sanctuary.

Someone is going to be a stylish baby…

You Are Beautiful

This should probably go under Happy Notes, but since there are so many amazing installations, I felt this deserved a post of its own! As a project that initially started in the States, You Are Beautiful is now a worldwide project spreading one simple message.

You Are Beautiful

You Are Beautiful

You Are Beautiful

You Are Beautiful

You Are Beautiful

You Are Beautiful

For a few years now, this message has been circulated in cities around the globe in the form of stickers, stencils, installations and signs. You too can participate by creatively putting the message “You are Beautiful” in your everyday environment to put a smile on someone’s face. Perhaps tell a bride she is beautiful on her big day? ;) You can also send a self-address stamped envelope and received 5 free stickers :) I haven’t yet, but hopefully I will begin to spot this message popping up in Toronto!
