Vera Wang, Spring 2012 Preview

Vera has taken a twisted turn in her latest bridal collection. Cream and black deconstructed chiffon, tulle, organza and lace adorn the gowns, creating a sort of wicked enchantment. What does everyone think of the dark, earthy direction for the Fall 2012 line? I’d say it’s perfect for the month of October.

Monique Lhuillier, Fall 2011

In love again, with Monique Lhuillier’s Fall 2011 Bridal collection. The inspiration seems to be feathers, flowers, and antique glam. I can never get enough of this stuff.

BHLDN launch

If you’re an Anthropologie fan, then you’re going to love this bit of news. A new brand is launching based off the Anthropologie aesthetic, but wholly separate from the stores and anthropoligie.com. It’s described as “where all things old, new, borrowed, and blue come with a distinctive wink, where there’s no trace of optic white, no matchy-matchy tomfoolery, and no dyeable anything”. Hello BHLDN!

The big launch is on Valentine’s Day—how perfect! So mark your calendars… or just sign up to be on their mailing list here to stay on top of things. Enjoy the sneak peak!

Elie Saab, Spring 2011

It’s been a while since I did a fashion-related post. And when some photos from Elie Saab’s Spring 2011 line crossed my path, I knew I had to share. The couture collection is strewn with soft cream, silver, and lilac shades; elegant bead work; and lacy floral overlays. Hey, if this kind of stuff doesn’t make you look like a million bucks on your wedding day, I don’t know what will.

For more breathtaking pieces from Elie Saab, you can visit the official site for past and current collections.

Real Wedding: Carmela & Chris

It was a chilly fall day, but wedding photographer Geehae Jeong worked her magic with bride and groom Carmela and Chris to capture this important event with no sign of the cold temperature left behind. All I gather from these photographs is happiness and warmth. Beautiful work!

The Cabaret Collection

Cabaret is a high fashion vintage boutique for both men and women located in Toronto’s Queen Street West area. They have been dressing brides in unique vintage looks for years, but with the limitations in colour, size and style (because let’s face it – real vintage is often ‘one of a kind’), it was difficult to reach the growing demand for such fabulous pieces. From this realization flourished The Cabaret Collection.

“The Cabaret Collection takes its inspiration from the “Cocktail Bride”: A beautiful, stylish, and sophisticated yet fun-loving woman who wants a glamorous vintage-style party dress for her special day.  This distinctive line focuses on the quality and uniqueness found in the fashion of the 40s, 50s, and 60s while meeting the needs of the contemporary bride in fit and styling. The charm of fine detailing, excellent construction, and superb fabric creates a modern-day classic that we hope you love.” {from the Cabaret blog}

They also have beautiful accessories to match your outfit, like this dazzling beaded purse. Other items include: vintage handkerchiefs, hairpieces, hats, and jewelery. Shop for them all here or go check them out for yourself at their downtown location.
