Kobe Sliders

So I’ve decided, that since I won’t be getting married until a long time from now, I will share with you one of my secret wedding plans.

Last Christmas, my boyfriend and I attended a Christmas party at Palais Royale in Toronto, which is also a wedding venue with a large ballroom. Before the dinner, everyone was socializing at the bar, and a variety of canapés were being served. As usual there were many that looked fancy, but were really neither filling or particularly delicious…but there was one, that we instantly fell in love with.

Mini burgers, kobe sliders…whatever you like to call them, are a bite-sized version of your favourite juicy meat burgers. They are mess-free for a formal occasion, and not too pretentious. The ones we had were topped with lambs lettuce, tomato copote and fire onions, although at the time I gobbled them up too quickly to tell what was inside. I believe there might have been bacon too, and I don’t even eat bacon.

We have been reminiscent of these burgers ever since, and pretty much decided that evening that if we were going to throw a wedding party, these would be on our menu (I’m sorry if I ruined the surprise for any potential guests)! If you know your company will enjoy a nice bite of meat at your wedding, be sure to ask your caterer if you can have these too.
