Smile Bash 2011

This past weekend I had the incredible delight of co-hosting a fun little celebration that Scarlet O’Neill and I dreamed up called SMILE BASH! We gathered friends, clients, and other creative individuals we know and love to showcase more of our recent work (including the vibrant photobooth backdrop I crafted) and spark some new connections. Lots of sweets were served, along with all the smiles.

And I couldn’t have done any of it without Scarlet’s incredible talent. Visit her blog to see more of the Smile Bash photos and other beautiful things.

Thank you to everyone who came! It was fantastic to see both old and new faces. Please say you’ll come again in the new year. xo

Charlie’s First Birthday

These past 2 weekends have been full of fun and celebration. Last weekend when I traveled to Brampton to complete my skating coach course, I also stayed with friends Victoria and Wade and their adorable son Charlie. His rocket themed first birthday was spectacular, with everything from sugar cookies, cheesecake pops, fabric garlands, pom poms, a DIY photobooth and backdrop that I constructed, and of course Victoria’s delicious cupcakes. Her friend Stephanie was also slaving in the kitchen alongside, since she is super talented with baking treats too.

Victoria runs a cupcake catering business called Victory Cupcakes, and in my opinion – her product is top notch! (My sweet tooth was beyond satisfied). I can’t get enough of that vanilla buttercream frosting she makes. You can visit her mommy blog here. She currently has a post up about this weekend’s event, Smile Bash, which was a thrill for both hosts (myself and Scarlet O’Neill Photography). I’ll be posting my version soon!

Thanks again to Victoria and Wade for letting me crash at their place and join in all the fantastic fun and prep for baby Charlie! Can’t wait to do it again next year.

DIY Party Animal Candles

This DIY project is right up my alley. Metallic colours, plastic animal figurines, and candles for celebrating? HECK YES!

The Shop is Now Open!

It’s finally open for business! You can find my Etsy shop here. Today is my very first listing of just 5 trio sets from the Celebrate! line. So get them while they’re hot. And don’t fret if they’ve sold out and you wanted to make a purchase. From here on out I will be making frequent listings, so you can always re-visit to see if there are more in stock. I will always announce new listings on my Twitter too, so follow me there if you want to be in-the-know.

Thanks for all the love and encouragement with these cards to everyone who commented and blogged! I really appreciate it and I’m looking forward to bringing you great things in my shop.

Cheers!

Luci Everett’s “Party”

Party by Luci Everett is a beautiful, handmade, french-folded book playfully exploring the theme of “party”. It was the perfect inspiration for the stationery line I’m currently working on. Thank you, Cheryl, for sending me the link! It’s always appreciated.

I like to PARTYPARTY

PARTYPARTY by Confettisystem

I stumbled upon this gorgeous line of party goods on Urban Outfitters the other day designed by Confetti System. I was thrilled by the magical array of colours. It reminded me of childhood birthday parties: sugary cake with pastel icing; pinatas filled with sweet treats; games like musical chairs and pin the tail on the donkey; pointed party hats and prizes. Those were the days… But don’t worry. By adding shimmery streamers and candy-coloured confetti to your event, you can party like an adult and still feel like a kid again. For fun couples only!
