City of Craft 2011: The Final Round Up

This year’s City of Craft was a huuuge success! It was a joy being a vendor and meeting so many nice people. Thank you to all those who were brave enough to step in front of my handcrafted backdrop, play around with some props, and put on their best smile or silly face. It truly was a blast! So many of the photos cracked me up, so I can’t thank them enough for the laughs.

I also cannot thank my partner in crime enough, photographer Scarlet O’Neill, for all her support and talent. I’m looking forward to many more of these photo booth sessions with her in the future.

Scarlet’s also done a little post of her own about the event. You’ll want to check that out too for more smiles.

And finally thanks to Becky Johnson, the Ring Leader, and all the City of Craft organizers and volunteers for making this thing happen. What an accomplishment!

City of Craft 2011

If you’ve missed the excited tweets or Facebook posts, I’m proud to announce here on the blog that I will be an official vendor along with Scarlet O’Neill at this year’s City of Craft. The show will be taking place December 10 & 11 and it’s bound to be the best yet! The hours are Saturday 11:00am-6:00pm and Sunday 11:00am-5:00pm with admission only $2 – whoo! It’s rare to get cheap admission to anywhere these days, so I hope that motivates you all to come out.

The show has also expanded this year to feature 2 amazing locations: The Theatre Centre at 1087 Queen Street West and the Thrush Holmes Empire gallery at 1093 Queen Street West. I’ll be in the second one with a fun interactive photobooth. Crazy, whacky and beautifully crafted props will be available for everyone to shoot with, so bring your besties (best friends and best outfit) and get free professional photos of the amazing time you’ll have! See you then friends! xo

Smile Bash 2011

This past weekend I had the incredible delight of co-hosting a fun little celebration that Scarlet O’Neill and I dreamed up called SMILE BASH! We gathered friends, clients, and other creative individuals we know and love to showcase more of our recent work (including the vibrant photobooth backdrop I crafted) and spark some new connections. Lots of sweets were served, along with all the smiles.

And I couldn’t have done any of it without Scarlet’s incredible talent. Visit her blog to see more of the Smile Bash photos and other beautiful things.

Thank you to everyone who came! It was fantastic to see both old and new faces. Please say you’ll come again in the new year. xo

Hinged Strung Stitched

It can be difficult at times to find that perfect (and perhaps personalized) wedding album or guest book. Most couples are seeking heirloom quality, and let’s face it: the local book store might not always be your best bet. Fortunately places like Hinged Strung Stitched do it right. Their handmade albums are crafted with 100% cotton rag, and are acid free and archival; all extremely important qualities for preservation of your photos. These are the type of books that will remain in the family for generations.

Props & Backdrops

Props and backdrops are made custom with great imagination and detail. Whether it’s something to hang, mount or hold, my creations add something special to each occasion. They look spectacular in photographs and help establish a unique atmosphere for your event. I love to work with a variety of materials, especially the unexpected. Allow me to get creative for you! It’s what I do best.

Beautiful Backyard Wedding Shoot

Happy Friday everyone! I’m finally in my new apartment after a disastrous moving experience, but things are looking better and I just can’t wait to be fully unpacked.

For the weekend I leave you with a sweet backyard shoot by Anne Robert featuring couple Naomi and Josh from the Rockstar Diaries blog. I love the tree swing! What a playful and heart-warming scene.

My first studio shoot + interview

Big things that happened this week included the release of my photos from my very first official studio shoot AND my very first interview with Charlotte Rivers of Lotti Loves blog. I’m so fortunate to have been contacted by Charlotte, not only for this interview, but also in regards to my Celebrate! card line. The big BIG news is…. I’m going to be published in her upcoming book, I Heart Stationery out this fall from RotoVision. I can’t tell you how excited I am! It feels incredible to have this opportunity and it just assures me that I’m in the right field.

Charlotte Rivers is a freelance writer based in London who focuses on design, lifestyle and more. Take a look at my detailed interview with her here.

Check out the rest of my studio shoot and new products on my Flickr photostream (click left through the photo menu on the right hand side).

And don’t forget to visit my Etsy shop or message me if you are interested in purchasing or ordering my work.

Action!

Not too long ago, I had the amazing Scarlet O’Neill over to capture some action shots of me at work.

Now although my actual studio is a little ‘under construction’ at this point, I have made some exciting plans to vamp it up. I don’t want to reveal everything yet, but the plans are already in action. More details to be revealed soon, so stay tuned to see the process. I’m so giddy about it!

I love this lady.

This is me and my photographer, Scarlet. I love her loads and can’t thank her enough for everything she has done and is doing for me. This Saturday we are having another shoot together so she can capture me working from home for a very special project. I can’t wait to share… but for now, I had to share with you how much I love her.

I love her lots and lots and lots and lots. xo
