ABC Paper Cups

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

These disposable paper cups from I Am Design in Korea are versatile and extremely cute. Each cup has a unique colour and pattern, and can be used for all sorts of possibilities and events. The studio even made a video to show examples of its uses, that will hopefully inspire some party-planners. It would go very well with a game night, don’t you think?

Daily Drop Cap

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

If you are a graphic designer like myself, then you must be familiar with the work of typographer and illustrator, Jessica Hische.

She recently started an impressive project called Daily Drop Cap, that has caught a lot of attention in the design world. She draws a beautiful capital letter regularly, to share with other bloggers so they can embellish their entries with her typographic magic. Not a lot of non-designers are excited about typography, but I figured it would be appropriate to introduce our wedding audience to these decorative letterforms.

You can decorate your wedding blog with drop capitals, by conveniently copying the links from Jessica’s site. This is an on-going project, so keep going back for more :)

Designers are usually overly ecstatic when it comes to typography, and I hope these lovely capitals help you understand why! There are so many different ways to express personality through words, and Jessica Hische definitely shows a variety of examples.

She also has some really cute display typefaces, and she’s working on a few more. The best part is they’re free to download!
