To kick off the first day of February I thought I’d feature something truly romantic: the handmade creations of Jennifer Wood from Mignonne.

Stop motion has always been a quirky/cute approach in video-making. And when Bayly & Moore use this technique to capture weddings, something magical happens. See what I mean by watching the video below.
And if that isn’t enough magic for you, head over to their Vimeo page to see the rest.

Vera has taken a twisted turn in her latest bridal collection. Cream and black deconstructed chiffon, tulle, organza and lace adorn the gowns, creating a sort of wicked enchantment. What does everyone think of the dark, earthy direction for the Fall 2012 line? I’d say it’s perfect for the month of October.

Happy Friday everyone! I’m finally in my new apartment after a disastrous moving experience, but things are looking better and I just can’t wait to be fully unpacked.
For the weekend I leave you with a sweet backyard shoot by Anne Robert featuring couple Naomi and Josh from the Rockstar Diaries blog. I love the tree swing! What a playful and heart-warming scene.

Check out this Super 8 style wedding video shot and edited by Sharkpig that features the oldies hit With a Girl Like You. Sharkpig is part of the awesomely rad collective known as The Flash Dance. I’m a huuuuuge fan of this group of artists. They make weddings so much cooler, which is what I’m always trying to do. Below the vid I have a more modern version of the same song by TV on the Radio member, David Sitek, for the beautiful compilation album Dark Was The Night. Have a listen and let me know which you prefer.
Happy Listening!

I recently reconnected with a friend from university, and if that wasn’t heart-warming enough, I soon realized she had just tied the knot! I am so thrilled for her and her family. I was also fortunate enough to meet her husband, Tommy, while they were still dating and I knew right away they were in for the long haul.
Best wishes to Nichole and Tommy and their new adventures as a married couple. And as a family with beautiful daughter Olivia. Just look at that gorgeous face! xo

Most creative. Invitation. Ever. Seriously ambitious and amazing. Why didn’t I think of this? Oh right… only a genius would think to make an actual functioning record player out of paper. Whoa!

I’m always ecstatic when discovering talented vendors within Toronto, and I can’t quite remember how I stumbled upon the site for Uschi and Kay, but I’m sure glad I did!
Gaelan Cormier founded Uschi & Kay as alternative to traditional event services and fondly named it after her two grandmothers. It’s based in and around the GTA, creating handcrafted celebrations that radiate individuality and personal style.
Not only that, but the Uschi & Kay blog is a dynamic source of wedding inspiration, so if you’re engaged or in the middle of planning, it’s a must read! Or if you’re just uber passionate about events like I am,… well, then it’s definitely a must read. It features real weddings, D.I.Y. projects, local vendor spotlights, and and tons of other inspiration for the crafty, modern bride or event enthusiast. Seriously, this lady has great taste… even when it comes to music. There is some major eye and ear candy over there.
And if you’re actually in need of event planning or styling services, don’t hesitate to check out the official site for service details.

In love again, with Monique Lhuillier’s Fall 2011 Bridal collection. The inspiration seems to be feathers, flowers, and antique glam. I can never get enough of this stuff.
